The Outspoken Adoptee
Transracial private infant adoptee
Why the name Outspoken?
Growing up I was taught “children are seen not heard,” due to this ingrained belief system I didn’t see value in my own voice. This allowed for me to be put in horrible situations, because I felt as if I never would be heard, believed, or seen as an adoptee.
Now I use my voice along with the voices of other adult adoptees, former foster youth, and those displaced by the child welfare system to advocate for change. We need a system that centers the needs of voiceless and vulnerable children over the needs of adults.
Help us advocate for change by learning more about adoption reform and better alternatives that center children in crisis.
Wanna help support my work?
Adoptees are the ones most affected by adoption and yet in society, our voice is the last to be heard from.
You will notice adoptive parent accounts are always larger than that of adoptees, and they are usually being paid through monetization or brands deals for their content.
Adoptees fight for our voices to be heard in a world that tells us we are ungrateful unless we speak the unicorn rainbow sparkle fart font narrative about adoption.
Many of us have lost contact with our adoptive families because we dare speak our truth about what we experienced -which also means a lack of support.
If you have learned anything from an adoptee or a former foster youth, please consider supporting them. We are the ones putting in the true emotional labor, and yet we reap the smallest reward and the most abuse from society.

Support My Advocacy
Much appreciation for supporting not only my advocacy but me as an adoptee. Having our community heard means the world to me. 💜
