Gavin McCaig

As Chief Operating Officer at Fundamentally Dance, Gavin leads organisational strategy, operational design and cross-departmental delivery to drive the company’s mission to reshape how dance is created, produced and experienced. He specialises in turning creative ambition into robust systems, scalable processes and clear strategic frameworks that help teams thrive and projects land effectively. His work centres on aligning people, process and purpose to achieve meaningful and measurable progress. Focused on change management, governance, and long-term planning, Gavin oversees core organisational functions: from finance and HR to operational infrastructure and performance delivery. He is dedicated to building resilient, values-led cultures, revitalising processes, and guiding stakeholders through complexity with clarity, creativity, and a solutions-driven mindset. Gavin brings a uniquely broad perspective shaped by a diverse career across the national dance sector. A former Director of London Vocational Ballet School and previously a performer with Northern Ballet, he has collaborated with leading choreographers, delivered organisational rebrands, and supported teams through periods of transition and renewal. Gavin is also Deputy Chair of Yorkshire Dance and London Children’s Ballet. Alongside his executive and board roles, Gavin supports organisations across the sector through creative, strategic and consultancy work, championing a sustainable future for the arts.
