About Me
Jesse Kliman, baritone, is a senior at DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Maryland. He studies with Robert Cantrell. Jesse has won 1st Place in the MD/DC Chapter of the NATS Student Auditions, 2nd Place at the NATS Mid-Atlantic Regionals, and 2nd Place at the Schmidt Vocal Competition in Missouri, qualifying for Schmidt's High School Nationals. He was also selected to the Maryland All-State Chorus from 2023 to 2026. Jesse is a member of Young Artists of America (YAA) at the Music Center at Strathmore, where he trains in musical theatre. Notable show credits include Camelot (Arthur), The Prince of Egypt (Ramses), Titanic (Barrett), The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Clopin), and The SpongeBob Musical (Squidward). Jesse has attended the Schmidt Vocal Institute, the Juilliard Summer Voice intensive, and the Washington National Opera Institute, and has performed in masterclasses with Ana María Martínez, Julia Faulkner, and Alek Shrader. Outside of singing, he plays cello and piano.

YAA Presents: The Prince of Egypt
with Special Guest: Composer/Lyricist STEPHEN SCHWARTZ A symphonic theatrical production, featuring over 200 young artists from: Young Artists of America at Strathmore Role: Ramses Saturday, May 2nd @ 7:00 PM The Prince of Egypt is a sweeping epic of a musical with music and lyrics by Grammy and Oscar winner Stephen Schwartz, a book by Philip LaZebnik, and 10 new songs written by Schwartz, together with five of his songs from the DreamWorks Animation film. The show also features Schwartz’s Academy Award-winning song, “When You Believe.” Journey through the wonders of Ancient Egypt as Ramses and Moses, two young men raised together as brothers in a kingdom of privilege, find themselves suddenly divided by a secret past. One must rule as Pharaoh, the other must rise up and free his true people; both face a destiny that will change history forever.
