Marissa Begnoche

My background is in Environmental Sustainability and Agriculture; it may seem a leap from the art world but it has provided me with a greater connection to the land that I hope to portray. Everywhere I go I am reminded of the importance of conservation. Spending my life surrounded by the everyday awe of Northern Michigan is a huge gift and something I aim to appreciate through my art. All of my pieces are based on real places that myself and my family have visited and they often hold a deep emotional significance to me. Such as where I spent my childhood summers, where I went to college, got engaged, and married. I paint these subjects as a way to connect the place to the memory and revisit it later on. I hope that you will find a similar connection to my work.
