Select Achievements
As Chair for Gascoyne Water led negotiations at Ministerial level that were pending for more than 5 years, to secure a $25mil investment by the State and the award of additional 4GL of water (enough to irrigate the equivalent of 225 MCG grounds). The project will result in annual income from sale of water for GWC that underwrites the financial position of the coop and at the same time secures agricultural produce for the State for decades to come. Strategic leadership at the Hellenic Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WA) has seen 30% growth in membership, record engagement and attendance at events which have included leading guest speakers at national and international levels. PhD in sustainability metrics and frameworks for complex socio-ecological systems, including the development of a new method for product ecological footprint. Has worked closely with the CEO, CFO and Operations Director of a NFP client on the creation of a new socio-economic model for sustainable, agile and community based village that provides homes, integrated services and employment opportunities for an intergenerational and diverse community. Co-developed a 6 day residential Executive and Board Leadership program for cooperatives and mutuals, delivered through the Australian Institute of Management. Has interviewed in excess of 60 Chairs and board members, published extensively case studies and research articles on governance, strategy, equity finance and member engagement.
Technical skills
Environmental Economics & sustainability metrics: PhD in resilience metrics from UWA. Driven to contribute in innovative businesses approaches to green and blue economies. Strategy, Governance, Member Engagement: Research, publications and lectured at UWA business school, awarded for Excellence in Teaching in 2015. Commercial Experience in Property Development: Co-founder of project management and development management firm, delivery of residential, commercial and industrial projects in the range of $5-60mil. Environmental Engineering: Lectured at the UWA School of Environmental Engineering. Equity finance: Academic publications in managerial accounting journals, conference presentations and industry reports, consulted at CFO level. Product innovation & commercialisation: Research and publications on consumer willingness to pay, product positioning, process re-engineering.
