Josh Warren

Born & raised in Victoria BC, Josh Warren is a bassist, composer and bandleader currently finishing his bachelor's degree in music at Humber College (Toronto, ON). At only 20 years old, Josh has been featured as both a bandleader and a sideman on many stages, including the TD International Jazzfest, Fernfest, the Victoria Dragon Boat Festival, and the TU Jazzfest (Toronto). He’s also shared the stage with internationally recognized talents (including JUNO award-winning trumpeter Ingrid Jensen and touring guitarist Brett Smith-Daniels), and has been lucky enough to perform and record in an ever-expanding list of cities across Canada, including Victoria, Toronto, Vancouver, Hamilton, and Nanaimo. As a freelance bassist, Josh plays all kinds of music - from swinging straight-ahead jazz to high-energy pop, rock, and soul. Josh’s influences span a diverse range of genres including jazz, hip-hop, soul, alternative and rock & roll, which is heavily reflected in his original music.
