Mat McNerney

BIOGRAPHY
Mat McNerney is a singer, songwriter, musician and visual artist. Born in 1978 and raised in London, England. McNerney's creative work has appeared on over 20 albums over the last 20 years. He is most known for his song-writing with what The Guardian calls the “dense, spaced-out atmospherics” of his main group Hexvessel, and his band Grave Pleasures, whose music Rolling Stone describes as “a shimmering, swirling blood pool of romantic gloom”. With a BA in Music Production, McNerney has worked on feature film soundtracks for Newfoundland director Justin Oakey, soundtracked the Finnish National Gallery's metaverse project in Decentraland and was commissioned to write an original performance at Roadburn Festival in Tilburg, The Netherlands, in April 2024. McNerney's first book of poetry, The Language Of Black Holes, was also published in April 2024. He is married with two children and resides in a small town in Finland.
