In 2022 LIBYA DESK decided to re-invest part of its profits to establish Almieyar: an independent, Libyan-led media project that empowers Libyan audiences by providing them with impartial, evidence-based coverage of the political-security-economic nexus that is driving the Libyan conflict. Almieyar's core activities include: ✅ Documenting and reporting on developments in Libya’s political-security-economic nexus ✅ Combating misinformation, disinformation, and hate speech ✅ Providing training and job opportunities to young Libyan journalists, researchers and media practitioners ✅ Working with Libyan media organisations to foster a more productive and professional media environment
