Move With Claire

Dance and Movement instructor in and around Hamilton, ON

Claire (they/them) is a movement instructor in Hamilton, ON. They teach barre, cardio dance, stretch, and burlesque at The Move Room. Their approach to dance draws on their work as a choreographer, their time as a burlesque performer, and years of instruction in ballet, modern, jazz, and other styles. Beyond that, their relationship to movement is framed by their disability and chronic pain/illness. Claire is trained in Barre and Barre for Special Populations (International Ballet Barre Fitness Association), Integrated Flexibility (National Academy of Sports Medicine), and Cardio Dance (Zumba). They're currently taking a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training with YogaRenew. They have a BA in psychology from York University with a concentration in health and rehabilitation psychology. In a movement class with Claire, you can expect an easy-going attitude, opportunities for levity, and a focus on making sure that everyone feels good, physically and emotionally.
