Orchidae

Orchidae is the solo project of Yolande Laroche, a queer Canadian Taiwanese artist based in Gatineau, Quebec. Known for blending her classical music training with avant-pop innovation, Orchidae creates a deeply personal sound that is equally intimate and confident. Her songwriting explores themes of self-discovery, transformation, and embracing change. Through her music, Laroche channels the symbolism of the orchid flower (her Mandarin namesake) — resilient and multifaceted — reflecting her journey of personal growth and artistic evolution.
