After becoming suddenly disabled in 2019, and struggling to come to terms as my life was turned upside down, I found joy through acceptance, and in the fact that beauty and happiness can be found because of a disability, not despite it.  I believe that while life with a disability isn’t without its challenges, the world needs to change to accommodate the needs of disabled people to enable us to fully participate in society, rather than disregarding a whole sector of humanity as somehow “less than”. Feeling as though I lost my sense of identify, I’m now on a mission to encourage and empower others with a disability to boldly live life “in full colour”. I’m happier now than I’ve ever been. I’m not broken, I’m beautifully imperfect. This journey has forged the woman I see reflected back at me in the mirror and I love & respect her with all my heart.  We humans are incredible. We are imperfect. We are strong. We are powerful. And we can change the world.
