I live north of big, beautiful Lake Simcoe in Barrie, Ontario. Thanks to a yard full of trees, I look out on a mini nature retreat and often work outside when it’s nice. ~~~ I arrived here in October 2019, in time for the pandemic. I grew up in Waterloo, the seventh of nine children, and thrived at our family cottage in Sauble Beach on Lake Huron. Sadly, we lost our Dad when I was six. ~~~ I lived in Aurora, Toronto, Guelph, and Calgary. I traveled across Canada and in Europe, the Caribbean, the United States, Brazil, Paraguay, Vietnam, and China. ~~~ In school, I wanted to learn about the meaning of life. I studied English literature, including courses in Canadian, American, and European literature. I have a Master of Arts degree from the University of Waterloo. ~~~ When my children were in university, I began writing in fearful earnest. They graduated and took hold of their careers. I’m finding meaning, engulfed in the maddening sea of self-publishing.
