About Me
I'm a journalist, radio host, creative director, and entrepreneur living in Rockland, Maine. I've led in-house brand teams at Herman Miller, IDEO.org, and Candid, and I'm the author of the Field Guide to Human-Centered Design. I've written ad copy for Coca Cola, helped Notre Dame figure out how to tell its story, and helped pull off the first Midlife Conference in Midcoast Maine.
My writing on art, architecture, fashion, and design has appeared in The New York Times, the New York Times Magazine, National Geographic, Dwell, Afar, SPY.com, Newsweek, and elsewhere. I was Deputy Editor at Dwell Magazine and for eight years I wrote a menswear column for the San Francisco Chronicle.
My weekly radio show on WRFR is Maine's home for far-out music, and in 2024, I'm launching Ask the Ages, a new, experience-based way to shop for incense.
