As we anticipate all that will come with 2025, I want to remind my community that we deserve love, admiration, and joy. We will always be worth the fight and collective liberation is achievable, if we all work together– across marginalized identities.
To the organizations that allow me to stand alongside them in this fight, I thank you for seeing me.
- @caribbeanequalityproject – serving as your Board Secretary continues to be life-changing for me as a queer and trans Jamaican immigrant living on this stolen land.
- @translifeline – serving as your Board Chair has been the most rewarding role of my career. To employ and serve so many trans people and our families allows us to stand in the gap of survival and thriving– a gap that continues to become smaller as we continue our charge.
- @nytransadvocacygroup - being on the Community Advisory Board has reaffirmed that providing education and advocacy can be fun and worthwhile. I thank you all for teaching me about NYC politics and a truly intersectional approach to collective liberation.
- @lgbtcenternyc - thank you for trusting me to facilitate a support group for BIPOC TGNC people in our community. This space has helped me to heal in far more ways than I could have ever anticipated.
- @newprideagenda - you all have become my family over the past few years. Thank you for continuing to challenge me to be the best version of myself in all spaces. And, thank you for including me in the 2024 Queer Voting Guide– this transformative work is why we continue to be gamechangers. Thank you for seeing me.
Collective liberation will not be achieved without collaboration, humility, and the ability to step back and allow others to thrive.
Blessings."
