Demand Signalling: Artificial Intelligence in Anaesthesia
A new project identifying and exploring clinician-led priorities for AI in anaesthesia, perioperative medicine and acute pain management
Complete the Clinician Survey
Project Summary
AI is presenting exciting opportunities in anaesthesia, perioperative medicine and pain management, but current development is often led by technologists with limited clinical input, leaving real-world needs underrepresented.
Supported by the Association of Anaesthetists and UCLPartners, this project will generate a consensus-based 'demand signal' from clinicians, informed by experts across healthcare, academia, industry, policy and patients. Anaesthetists in the UK and Ireland are invited to identify priority clinical processes for AI, which will then undergo review and ranking by an expert panel to define a top list of applications. Multidisciplinary workshops will then refine these priorities and explore their potential.
This first-of-its-kind initiative will produce a roadmap for targeted, clinically relevant AI, guiding research, investment and industry collaboration to deliver impactful solutions.
