I am a historian of empire & transnational connectivity across the Middle East, North Africa, Europe & South Asia. I am currently based at the Cambridge Heritage Research Centre, where I am the Principal Investigator on an interdisciplinary research project, ‘Gernika as Orient: Bombs, Art & Fake News’. This project is funded by the British Academy and a Marie Curie postdoctoral fellowship.
Previously I taught international history of the 20th century at the Munk Institute for Global Affairs / University of Toronto, and history & politics of the modern Middle East at the University of Oxford. I have also worked in policy research at the Carnegie Middle East Centre and at the United Nations in Beirut, Lebanon.
My forthcoming book is titled 'East of Empire: Egypt, India, and the World between the Wars'.
