Kaneng Lolang

𖢾I was born in the Balkan nation-state of Bulgaria, fashioned by Western and Russian imperialism at the end of the Ottoman Empire. I was raised between the British colonial extraction project so-called Nigeria, and the Russian-occupied land of Siberian Komi. I have lived at the intersections of global colonialism but also grateful to know my ancestral cultures on my ancestral lands. I began as a dancer and later formed my music as primarily a vocalist, with an improvisation as well as songwriting practice, orbiting a multitude of sonic contexts, including electronic freeform under the alias DECAY humansupremacy. I have collaborated with Shahzad Ismaily, Adio, Jolie Holland, Tunde Adebimpe, Aisha Sanou, Seb Rochford, Peni Candra Rini, Rock Arka'n and Leo Abrahams, among others. Moreover, I am a visual artist, filmmaker, mother and gardener. I live between London and West Africa𖢾
