Kelly Forbes

I am the President and Executive Director of the AI Asia Pacific Institute (AIAPI), where I lead efforts to strengthen Asia-Pacific economies through the responsible development and adoption of artificial intelligence. Under my leadership, AIAPI has collaborated with international organizations, policymakers, government officials, and industry leaders to shape the future of AI.

In addition to my role at AIAPI, I advise Qlik on accelerating the responsible development of its AI-driven product portfolio. I also serve on the advisory committee for the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), focusing on the processing of personal data in autonomous and semi-autonomous systems. As a speaker and lecturer, I frequently address audiences on the intersection of law, sustainability, and artificial intelligence. I have spent the past 15 years working in the Asia-Pacific region and am currently based in the United Arab Emirates. My contributions have been recognized internationally, with my work being featured in Forbes magazine and various global conferences. Born in Brazil and having lived and worked across more than five countries, I've developed a profound understanding of diverse cultures, values, and language nuances. This experience amplifies my capacity to address international challenges, offering a distinctive outlook on AI and its potential implications.
