Kimberly Lovie Murdaugh

About Me
Kimberly Lovie Murdaugh is a scientist, doctor, and artist with degrees from Harvard University and Yale School of Medicine. In engineering graduate school, she became an advocate for women’s health, designing and patenting a medical device to make gynecologic surgery safer. Her love for B&W cinema led her to radiology, where she develops new ultrasound techniques to address overlooked aspects of women’s health. Through her research on clitoral ultrasound and estimated placental volume (EPV), Kim pushes boundaries to advance female reproductive health. As Director of Research & Development for CERĒ, a physician-developed sexual health company, she uses clitoral ultrasound to test the efficacy of her tools and formulations. Enchantment Gel won Beauty Independent’s Product Innovation 2023 Beacon Award. In clinic, Kim developed a trauma-informed approach to do clitoral ultrasound scans on survivors of female genital mutilation/cutting (FGM/C) to understand the preserved clitoral anatomy and treatment options. By extending imaging techniques to filmmaking and creative arts therapies, Kim explores issues related to mental health. As a professional artist recognized by the International Association of Art (IAA/AIAP), she made her international photography debut in Seoul in 2021, and short film debut in LA in 2022. Kim is passionate about medical education and mentoring trainees from underrepresented groups in science and medicine.
