I’m a writer of science fiction and fantasy books, though recently I’ve been writing books in the space opera genre. Think fantasy but in space (i.e. Star Wars). I think what distinguishes me from other writers in this genre is that I’m very conscientious of my characters, their relationships with each other, and their journeys through life. I am fascinated by downfalls and redemptions, situations where it’s difficult to do the right thing—or where doing the right thing has deadly consequences—and characters who are haunted by their past and strive to overcome it. The Sun Maker Saga takes place 300 years before Breaking Colossus, but are both set in the same universe.
