Unwilling to buck society, she hides her sexuality to keep her job. May Foster Dax’s older sister and protector growing us, she depends on Dax after becoming handicapped in an accident. Charlene (“Charlie”) Dawson Dax’s new best friend. A smart and rebellious butch lesbian who also bucks society. A genius car mechanic. Owns Brutus, a loveable Bulldog. Grace Parsons Hollywood star in a lavender marriage. She becomes Rose’s secret lover to get over a previous lover’s suicide. Jules Sanchez Charlie’s under-the-radar girlfriend and town’s gossip know-it-all. Frankie Wilkes Halfmoon Bay’s hotel and speakeasy owner. He’s on a mission to turn the town into the west coast answer to Atlantic City.
