I’m Jess, a Specialist and Post-CCST trainee in Paediatric Dentistry. I qualified as a dental surgeon in 2016, graduating from the University of Leeds with an integrated masters in Dental Surgery. I have held several hospital posts in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Adult Special Care and Community Dental Services in Yorkshire before completing my specialist training in Paediatric Dentistry at The Leeds Dental Institute. I have been registered as a Specialist since 2023 and began my consultant training in September of this year before pausing to undertake a leadership fellowship with Health Education England and the School of Dentistry at The University of Leeds. Through these roles I am actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate training and the current chair of the Trainees Group.

I work with all children across Yorkshire, focusing on those with complex dental and medical needs, neurodiversity, dental anxiety, and special needs. I am skilled in non-pharmacological and pharmacological behaviour management techniques, including Makaton, British Sign Language, and Inhalation Sedation. I have extensive experience in the provision of sedation and I am an SATC accredited supervisor. My goal is to make every dental visit as comfortable and positive as possible for every child. I am passionate about providing the best care for all children and adolescents, and I believe that my experience, knowledge, and dedication make my approach to dental treatment truly special.

I have a special interest in helping children who have experienced dental trauma or have unique developmental dental conditions. I am passionate about working with children who feel anxious about visiting the dentist and strive to rebuild their confidence to prepare them for adulthood. My gentle, explanatory approach is designed to help children feel comfortable and relaxed, especially those who might struggle in a typical dental setting. I provide a full range of dental treatments for children of all ages, from infants to teenagers. I use the latest techniques and technologies, with a strong focus on holistic, patient-centered care. Whether your child needs a simple check-up or more specialised care, I am here to ensure their experience is positive and stress-free.

I welcome both self and clinician referrals for any type of dental treatment your child may need. This includes procedures like inhalation sedation and orthodontic extractions, making sure that each child receives care tailored to their needs.
