The Umbrella Hub
We are a support hub for women and non binary people exploring all aspects of neurodivergence through creativity
WHO ARE WE?
We are Beckie Batchelor and Onitha Jarrold - we have joined our creative and neurodivergent forces to create a support hub for women and non binary people. We are a non profit organisation providing meet ups (both on line and in person) signposting, creative workshops and 1:1 mentoring and coaching.
BECKIE Batchelor - @themakingbee
I was diagnosed at 16 with dyslexia, have a daughter who was diagnosed with ADHD during Covid and I associate with ADHD myself but as yet not diagnosed. Since having my children in 2006 I have worked as a creative designer tackling everything from upholstery and soft furnishings to styling, party planning, running workshops and interior design. Since deep diving into neurodivergence myself I have found it nothing short of life changing; I feel seen, heard, have grown in self confidence and have been left with an unrelenting passion to help support those who are exploring all types of neurodivergence, both for themselves and those around them.
ONITHA Jarrold - @_rekindled
I have spent the last 10 years upcycling and reupholstering furniture. After reading a book referring to how ADHD presents in women, I did some deep dive research and found I identified with everything I read. This new understanding of myself has led to a huge shift in my outlook on life, confidence and sense of belonging. It has also lead me back to practicing as an Occupational therapist and Coach. I have always been fascinated by how our brains work and I believe that if we can understand how a person’s brain is wired, we can find the best tools, strategies and tips to allow them to unlock their full potential no matter what their age. I am passionate about offering other people the support and community I have found so helpful.
