CANON SHIBATA
Praised for her “Technically flawless and extraordinary expressive playing” by cellist Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi, Japanese cellist Canon Shibata has earned recognition for her musicianship as a 1st prize winner of the 14th Viva Hall International Music Competition(Japan),International Music Competition OPUS 2021(Poland), Corcoran Grand Prize of the Robert W. And G. Ann Corcoran Concerto Competition 2022(Canada), GGS Chamber Music Competition 2023(Canada) and more. In January 2023, her first album “Canon Shibata in Concert” was released under Octavia record label, and was featured as a specially selected recording by the Record Geijutsu magazine. She is currently kindly supported by Ezoe Memorial Recruit Foundation and Rohm Music Foundation. Canon Shibata plays the Giovanni Grancino (1694) as a loan from the Munetsugu Collection, along with a bow by Eugène Sartory as a loan from Mr.Kenji Nishimura.
