JOSEFINA BUSCHMANN is a researcher, filmmaker, and media artist from Chile exploring the intersection of technology, ecology, and spectres through speculative observations. Her practice blends transdisciplinary and collaborative methods, drawing from anthropology, storytelling, and media. Through the works Artificial Clouds (ongoing), The Fallen Clouds (2022, Ars Electronica), and Operational Atmospheres (2019), she has delved into the ecologies of AI and digital infrastructures in Chile. Since 2013 she has been part of the collective MAFI (Filmic Map of a Country), co-creating documentaries such as OASIS (2024, Berlinale) and GOD (2019, Visions du Réel). She holds an M.S. in Comparative Media Studies from MIT, where she worked at the MIT Open Doc Lab. She also studied Sociology and Filmmaking at Universidad Católica de Chile, where she later coordinated the Visual Anthropology Lab and taught courses in Visual and Digital Anthropology.
